Fertilizer stocks
As I mentioned in this thread: http://www.early-retirement.org/foru...s-27467-4.html
I'm a fan of POT and to a lesser degree AGU, Yara, MOS and a few others. Since I posted that message, POT has gone up 21%. I will be taking some off the table soon although I think it may have a bit more to run.
Anyone else got these?

Good for you kumquat. POT has been on my watch list for a few months, never pulled the trigger though.

What about ADM ?
I don't know a lot about the company or its product/services, but I have heard they are a "full service" source. They sell seed, fertilizer and will soon be the biggest distiller in the US !

ADM is an ag company but not a fertilizer play. May be a good bet simply being in the ag sector.
POT, AGU, Yara, MOS are primarily or exclusively fertilizer producers, AGU also sells retail, POT does not.

So, where will they go?
Sold 20% of my POT holding at ~$103 and it's still >50% of my net worth. If you have any and like today's $110, you can thank me. It goes up whenever I sell.
PS: It's kinda nice not to have to specify if I'm talking C$ or US$.

There is going to be free fertilizer in abundance over the next year as the presidential debates heat up.

Good picks, kumquat! POT and MOS have done well. What led you to these stocks?

Farmers in the family, mostly. Fertilizer prices have been increasing for a few years.

POT is the second largest holding in Vanguard's PRIMECAP fund. I recently bought into the fund.

Nope. Reopened on 9/21 (to Flagship investors).
