GS#3 is the one that bought the SPAC (CCIV). His average cost is $26 and it closed on Friday at $39.98 so he's doing okay so far. Could come crashing down if the "merger" doesn't happen as speculated. Not sure how GS#4 is investing, but I'll ask.
Do GS#3 a favor, and tell him to take his CCIV profits while he has them, take a breather and bask in his glory! He should understand that 50% gain in two weeks is not normal and the risk is extremely high, for any SPAC...especially one jumping higher on nothing but rumor. Even if the merger happens, there are still huge risks going forward.

I would not. He would just say that even "better" things happened before, like Tesla and Bitcoin. He has to learn his own lesson.

I would just tell him that the gain is unusual and to not expect the same gain again and again, but not urge him to cash out. If he misses out on further gains, you will lose all credibility. Even if he loses it all, it's not going to ruin him, and it becomes a valuable lesson.

There's always someone predicting the markets will crash. Eventually they'll be right. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I think there have been experts saying the stock market is overvalued every single year of my investing life, except at the trough’s during crashes, in which case there are experts explaining how the stock market won’t be coming back any time soon.

Sure seems like that. I do think a correction is possible, just like any year, but have confidence in the market long term.
