Monday Eve 1/21..Asia down10% Buy Now?

Ok, Asia down about 10% in 2 days, Europe fell about 5% last night.

Is tomorrow on the open the time to pull the plug?

Will tomorrow have the selling climax with the VIX over 30 that traders have been waiting for?

Will Helicopter Ben drop the rate before the open?

The Asian markets are still getting killed. I looked at the futures for the Dow a few hours ago and they were down 600. Just looked and there up +42. Crazy!

It's going to be a very bumpy ride tomorrow, if the international markets today are any indicator. It's probably a good buying opportunity for investors with strong guts, but my stomach is a bit queesy right now.

CNN obviously has some math problems. They print the DOW futures at 11604 and show that up 20. I guarantee that 11604 is not up anything.

I see CNN and Bloomberg BOTH reporting DOW futures ~ 11,601.

I think the +20 or -500 depends on the time frame they compare to. -ERD50

You can get real-time e-mini's here:

CBOT - mini-sized Dow ($5) Quotes Live Book

Looks like the "change" is broken on the data feed, but you can watch the values crash in real time.

Yeah, it depends on the timeframe. Most of the drop came Sunday night and Monday morning. The electronic markets (Globex, anyway) closed at 11:30AM and re-opened at 6PM.

What matters is what the equity markets do after they gap down at open. In the past, they've finished higher (from the low, that is).

The Dow e-mini is 11,594 at 11:46PM CST.
