I’ve been experimenting with standard option symbols to give to the GoogleFinance function in Sheets. So far, no luck.
I thought symbols had been standardized to 21 characters, consisting of:
Stock symbol, padded with spaces to 6 chars.
Expiration date, in YYMMDD (6 chars)
Call/Put, “C” or “P” (1 char)
Strike price * 1000, right padded with zeroes to fill 8 characters.
Using AT&T call as an example with a 3/5/21 exp date, strike $26.50:
T_____210305C00026500
(there are 5 underscores after T)
But that didn’t work.
Anyone have success with this in Sheets?
