Sold all my clocks!

I mean, seriously - that market peaked. It’s all watches and smartphones now. Sure, I could always get back in to clocks in the future, but then people here would just call me a......

(Wait for it...)

I'm a long term clock owner. I love hearing the ticks and watching the hands of the clock. Always moving forward.

Apple sold more Apple Watches than the entire Swiss Watch industry in the past quarter*.

We still have clock displays on our microwave, stove, and a couple of temperature monitoring displays. But no clocks.

The finish line is in sight

I still have a houseful of clocks because, unlike the rest of you, I'm still punching one.

I manage to come here to gulp a breath of free air at lunch time, but then it's back to the sweatshop for the rest of the day.

Crossing my fingers that it stops in December!

I have a sister who has 20 to 30 antique clocks... I guess the market is going downhill on them...

Besides the normal cheap ones we have a grandfather, but it is not old...

We have this one. It's big, loud, and does not match our decor. My in-laws gave it to us for Christmas about 18 years ago so it's staying.

Mine just keeps blinking 12:00 all day. Anyone know how to adjust it?

This theme is getting out of hand anyway, the first one was funny/funniest?

That’s the problem with timing. So difficult! Maybe I should start a thread on calling the bottom of this ‘sold all my...’ meme? Hehe

Although I *did* briefly think of starting one titled “Sold all my Glocks” but I didn’t think that one would get very far...

I visited this shop in Regensburg, Germany, but I decided not to invest in any international clocks!

Ah 'The Twilight Zone'. A classic and these two threads are proof that we are still living there. One of our local stations is airing an episode a day. Some of them are still quite good and some of the stars who appeared are pretty impressive. 'Time Enough at Last' with Burgess Meredith was one of the most highly rated episodes but I still thought 'To Serve Man' was better.

The bad thing about selling all your clocks is that you won't be able to time when to buy them back again!

A friend of mine was a clock maker during his career. His home is like a museum with clocks of every style in every room. Hundreds of them everywhere, most antiques. He keeps some of them working in a couple rooms and the sounds of ticking are intoxicating. He does rotate through them to keep all of them operable.
And he has a story about each clock.
A fascinating individual.
Myself? I have 1 clock other than the phone and microwave. No need or desire to be kept on a schedule. Ain't retirement great?

So there’s this thing called a watch...

OK I don’t have one of those, but we have four I-devices and two laptops and one mini-pc and a microwave and a satellite box that is off by two time zones and a weather station on the back porch. We can usually find the time. Just no clocks. I’m not counting the battery-operated clock my landlord has on a wall. It died ages ago.
