In the previous 3 months I had been to Arizona, Utah, New York, and England, so I just stayed home to enjoy the deck.

You should do something different - like hike to Machu Picchu. I can't remember what I did - probably played out in my workshop

DH/me turned 60 in the same year, we're 3 months apart. We rented a large SUV and drove out West with DBI and DSI for a month. Stayed with friends in Colorado and drove to Utah, New Mexico and many stops in-between.

We often celebrate milestone birthdays via travel.

Hawaii sounds like a great destination for a December celebration.

I vote for Hawaii. Head up to Oahu’s north shore and take a tandem jump or a glider plane ride!

Thanks for the great feedback. This past January we took a Southern Caribbean Cruise (ABC islands and Grand Cayman) and the previous 3 years we had gone on cruises to the Caribbean. So far Hawaii is the front runner since neither of us have been.

Yes. Stunning wildlife trip. Almost all the boats are 16 passengers, so fairly private. (It's important to understand that the number of boats is limited by the government so all travel agencies are selling the same things. Finding and negotiating with the company actually operating the boat was financially worthwhile for us.)

For our 50th anniversary trip/next March we are going back to southern Africa. Karen and Pierre (https://www.bushbaby.co.za/about.html) have become friends over previous trips and we're working with them to tailor an itinerary. They do only custom tours. It looks like Botswana and RSA/Kruger park will be the stops, several days in each of three camps over a couple of weeks.
