Heading to Manmouth Cave Kentucky

DW and I are heading down there tomorrow some time. I have not been there since I was about 10 years old and she has never been there. It is about a 300 mile trip to Cave City for us.

Anyone been there recently? We just want to see "caves" and do some walking for a couple of days.

Plan to just go and find two nights of accommodation nearby and "see what there is to see".

Anything wrong with the plan (not much of one) this time of year?

We went about 10 years ago on pretty much the same amount of planning. It was great.

I haven't been there since our kids were 6 & 9--about 25 years ago. There was, in addition to the cave, which takes some stamina to go through, a house that was totally out of whack--with very step inclines and angles as I remember. The kids loved it--more than the cave which got old quickly!!!!!

I also suggest you dress appropriately since the cave is damp and chilly. Wear comfortable shoes that will give ample support to your ankles too.

Have a great time.
