I did a search and was unable to find a thread that discussed this topic specifically.

DW & I are relative newbies on traditional Medicare with Plan G supplements. One of the benefits of our supplement is reimbursement for emergency medical services outside of the U.S. It stipulates that to apply for reimbursement, the insured needs to provide detailed billing information of their treatment. Since the benefit is only valid within the first 60 continuous days of departure from the U.S., the insured must also provide a copy of passport and/or travel itinerary.

The benefit also has a lifetime 50K maximum.

Has anyone ever filed a claim with your Medigap or Medicare Advantage insurer for emergency treatment you received outside of the United States? If so, how did that process work for you?

Thanks!
