I would recommend New Orleans, but I cannot recommend any specific hotel or short term housing here since I have never stayed at any (I live here). Good luck in finding your nice warm, relaxing vacation spot with good food.

I have had people tell me they went to Maui or FLorida and stayed at a particular resort. Some have even provided the unit number they stayed in.
There have been some great responses here. I did not mention a budget, but $500/night is too much for this length of stay. Was generally thinking $3k-$4k for a month. Ish.

You can probably find a place at Litchfield by the Sea in your price range. Maybe the Oyster Catcher houses, we like those (although there are some steps to get up to them). If Oyster Catcher is too expensive look at the Heron Marsh Villas in Litchfield by the Sea, these are townhouses and a little less expensive. We have stayed at both Oyster Catcher and Heron Marsh and liked them both. Look on the website Litchfield Golf and Country Club. If you decide on that area I can tell you places to go, where to eat and things to do. It should be a very nice place to stay in late October, early Nov. Hopefully all hurricanes are gone by then.

Medici hotel, in Barcelona.
We stayed there April 2018, it was around $100 USD / night at the time.
Great bus stop right on the corner, with many buses and many bus routes.
Handy local restaurants to eat breakfast daily around the corner.
Walking distance to Hospital of Sant Pau (not a hospital now, but a great tourist attraction).
Walk to Sagrada Familia.
It's about 2 miles as the crow flies from the Barcelona Beaches (easy bus).
We stayed for 10 days, I liked sitting out on the tiny balcony with my Spanish wine (bought a block away) watching the neighborhood after a day of walking/touring.
It's not a fancy hotel.

We stayed in Gretna at the Holiday Inn years ago. It is a few towns over from New Orleans. It is a uber ride away from NO. We would do it again. When walking in the French Quarter, don't stray away too far from the FQ for your safety.

You might want to go online and search for condo management companies in Gulf Shores or Orange Beach.
My wife and I are not beach people and our vacations are spent in Europe or at our RV in the North GA mountains.

Probably depends on the type of place you want to stay, but I also haven’t checked rates lately. I’ve heard they have skyrocketed.
Still, there are areas just north of Napa that give you the fun day trips too and have to be cheaper I would think. In general, that time of year is gorgeous in CA.

I love Naples Florida. Treviso Bay has condos for rent on airbnb. Great golf course, plenty of tennis. Nice restaurants, pool, bocce, walking trails. Get a condo close to the bar-b-cue /pool area.
+ve: close to stores in south Naples. Close to Marco Is.
-ve: 20 min from downtown Naples, 25 min from Naples beaches.

My brother owns a 1 bedroom condo in New Orleans he usually rents long term. He just came back a few weeks ago so I believe it is still empty. I haven’t been but it is supposedly near the parade route if not on it. Not sure if he does short term rentals.
Are you looking for a hotel a condo, do you want a kitchen?

I do an annual trip to Sonoma each October. It’s still very warm, and Sonoma is less pretentious and more affordable than Napa. I stay at the Auburge Sonoma which has three suites, all are fantastic. It’s walking distance to town square, yet in a tranquil location. All units have kitchens.
