Apple USB Superdrive or ?

DH and I are in need of a drive for his 2015 Macbook Pro. Looking at the reviews on the Apple site, we do NOT want to purchase this product. Amazon reviews are better but still only 67% 5* although quite a few of the 1* were a result of counterfeit drives.

Thoughts on other brands to purchase or should we purchase the Apple brand?

I don't know if you have an old Mac around, but any Mac can use the SuperDrive (DVD/CD) on another Mac over the network. So as long as one of your Macs has an internal SuperDrive you don't really need a dedicated external one.

Buy the Apple product. Mine is well over four years old and still performs perfectly.

I've been distributing the LG Ultra Slim DVD reader/writer to all of our office Macbook Pros and they have been doing well despite taking a beating by the employees...
