The following video is a compilation of videos released by Boston Dynamics over the years. At the start, it shows the "Big Dog" robot, which was intended to be used as a mule in combat. Elsewhere, it was claimed to be able to carry 400 lbs.
In this video, it was said the DoD abandoned the Big Dog project which was started in 2004 because the robot was too loud to be used in combat. We did not hear the audio that was recorded along with the videos, but you can imagine the noise caused by the battery-operated hydraulic pump, and the hydraulic actuators that move various parts of the robot limbs. Even the latest "Spot" is not going to be as quiet as your Rottweiler.
