Considering Moving from Android to Apple

For those in the Apple ecosystem, if you care about privacy then you may want to look into a new feature they recently added, Advanced Data Protection:

When a user turns on Advanced Data Protection, their trusted devices retain sole access to the encryption keys for the majority of their iCloud data, thereby protecting it with end-to-end encryption.

I haven’t enabled it yet, but plan on doing so soon. I want to be careful, since if you mess up, you can lose access to all your data.

I’ve used both Android and Apple and prefer Apple. Cross device integration works amazingly well and I appreciate the closed ecosystem, since it provides extra security.

Yikes. I guess I shouldn't have revived this thread to ask a simple (or maybe not so simple) question about archiving text messages on a soon-to-be unused Android phone. I didn't mean to start yet another Apple-Google war. Sigh.

It's a built-in feature, I think.

I used a free version of mobi-mover about 5 years ago. I don't know anything about it since then.
