Cordless Screwdriver

I have the Ryobi and I definitely like using the smaller battery. I’ve never run one down on the drill. It would take a pretty big project to do so.

I ran down the 1.5 battery ripping through 6' of soft pine with the sawzall. It was the only way to do the job in the situation facing me.

95% of the time I just use a regular hand powered screw driver :) when I just have a few screws to tighten or remove.... Even when my battery power tools are fully charged (which is usually the case) sometimes it's just easier to use the original model....:)

I had an older version of this one:

For most light duty work it was quite capable, like assembling furniture, installing light switches and outlets--sort of things the OP was asking about. It could even drive wood screws into boards. After about 10 years I had to replace the battery, which cost about $8.00 at the time. Another 10-12 years and that battery crapped out. Replacement batteries no longer available. I definitely got plenty of use out of it!

So I got this one:

Not as easy to handle and maneuver, but a good, solid tool.

The most versatile tool is a variable speed drill. And they are ridiculously powerful if needed...I can drive 4" deck screws deep enough into solid wood to countersink the heads with my basic Bosch 18v drill. But with a light touch and adjusting the torque it can also be used for small jobs.
