Jan 2021 Jobs Report

So the jobs report for Jan 2021 came out this morning. Reported 49,000 more jobs but all the talking heads seem to be saying these were poor numbers. I'm looking at Dec with a loss of 227,000 jobs and seeing we were in the height (or depth) of the latest Covid/Corona numbers.

(source of numbers is https://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/empsit.pdf

I'm a bit more glass half full, turning the corner from loosing jobs to small add and in the midst of the worst month of Covid.

It is positive news yes. The weekly claims for unemployment released yesterday were also positive.

As the vaccines roll out (with JNJ and AZ hopefully being approved soon) there will be more supply.

More can reopen leading to more hiring. Who knows? Schools might even reopen.
