I agree. The economy can not recover until we get the virus under control and I think we are a ways away from that.

Finally, the dig-out begins!

Also, it's also good news that businesses are opening and the hospitals are not full.....and the death rate is dropping.

Our DD (24yrs) and her two roommates all have tested positive for Corona....They've all hunkered down and are staying in and they have had no serious health issues.

Looks like our plan to "slow the spread" and keep the hospitals from overflowing is working.....And the vaccine seems to be coming fast!

We got this.....

Based on data even the bls admits is dodgy and as continuing claims don't budge. Sounds great.

I don't think there will be a vaccine next month....but looks like trials and data are positive and it will be sooner than the usual couple of years.

BLS never said data was "dodgy".

New claims are too high, but
6.2M more people are employed than last month.

These huge gains in jobs are more than double what analysts expected.

There is much more work to do and the path won't be straight, but adding millions of new jobs is very good news.

Locally, the plan to "slow the spread" and keep the hospitals from overflowing is failing dramatically. In the past two weeks:

Hospitalizations up 382%
ICU patients up 352%
Patients on ventilators up 438%

Postivity rate 20.1%

I don't see any good news here.

Florida set a new record for infections. Over 10,000 reported.

Nope. Corona virus is sky high in Florida.....Personally, As mentioned, DD and two of her roommate are positive....but no health issues.

Florida hospitals are not full....yet....and that's a good thing. OK on respirators and PPE, from what I have read. Florida death rate is low....The nursing homes, thankfully, remain in serious lockdown mode and unlike New York, Florida is doing a good job protecting these at risk folks.

The virus is spreading rapidly but death rate is low (although any death is not good). So say the stats thus far.
