- Ten years in USAF then became a civilian in Chicago joining a national computer company. Thirty one years in the industry, mostly in management handling 62 direct reports in my last position. Yeah, incredible. Two sons both in their forties from my first marriage, self sufficient. Moved my mother in with me for 20 years due to health and income issues but she passed away July 2012. My girlfriend has lived with me for the last twenty eight years and somehow continues to put up with me. I am frugal, she is a savings machine. Company was doing so many layoffs in waves that I kept asking my VP to cut me instead of more of my team and finally in Feb 2012 he took me up on it when I told him I was going regardless. Loved the package.
