- I had a test run at early retirement. I took three years off and did a variety of things, lived in many different places and did not plan to go back to work. Then I got offered a job. Now I have experience to help me plan better for the next time. I know more what a realistic budget is for myself. I also am very motivated to go back to a self driven daily schedule.
