- Kind of a unique situation. I'm 36 now.
I was never a good student, and never went to college. I knew I wanted to be in the business world and worked jobs since I was 12. Started working in my industry at 17.
I bought my own business at age 24 (year 2000) and luckily, did very very well. And while I never lived over my means, and did save money......I did get used to living a nice lifestyle....ie luxury travels, eating out, and overall not worrying about money.
Business has been soft lately, and much of my net-worth is in my business meaning, if my business got crappy, I'd be in a bad situation. (6 years expenses in bank)
Anyway, while business isn't "bad", it is VERY vulnerable to things like oil prices and economic collapse.
A competitor of mine wants to buy me out and is offering a HUGE premium which I'm seriously considering.
Hence, here I am.
