Sorry to see his great life has ended at 85, glad he had a good run.

He did a lot as a songwriter and his solo work in the 70's-80's still holds up for me. The guy could tell an entertaining story in 3 minutes :)

My music tastes run from from rock to country and his best work shows up on my headphones often.

Here are just two of my favorites:
The Cowboy and the Poet

Salute to a Switchblade

As a native Nashvillian, I've seen Tom T around town--at the malls, etc. He was a very nice, laid back guy with a great outlook on life.

He and Dixie were famous for opening their home to big Christmas parties for charity. My godmother was friends of his wife, and often visited her.

Loved his music and his quiet, respectful demeanor. Great gentleman.

I used to watch his show Pop Goes the Country back in my youth. I would loved to have been his friend and neighbor.

I didn't get into Country until about 1975. Tom T. Hall was one of my favorites - probably because of the stories he told in his songs. RIP Tom.

Just realized Harper Valley PTA was his first really big hit. Great song.

He will be missed.
