Nothing Wrong With America That Can't Be Fixed By What's Right With America

Re: Nothing Wrong With America That Can't Be Fixed By What's Right About America

I liked the talk you linked to on your blog. I reserve judgment for the time being His politics are my politics but sometimes he is harsh in his humor.

(Dantien, I like your blog. A good way to keep track of things that are personally interesting. Oops! Another potential hobby.)

Hi Dan!

First of all I love the title of your post!

That YouTube link from your blog to "Gollum Sings Barry White" made my day yesterday! I'm still laughing.

Thanks Martha...say you know that joke about lawyers...well that's something a guy like Al would say...please pay no attention

Hello Audrey - I'm happy you liked the Barry White - I had strange dreams last night, hope you didn't.....I stole the title from Al who stoled it from Bill Clinton who stoled it from...

I think I'll be going to some Franken rallies, should be fun and I of course am curious if he will implode or explode...

As they say down here in the cities..you all come and bring your kin!

I've always been a big fan of Al Franken the comedian. Man, you've got to rent the movie "Stuart Saves His Family" that he wrote and starred in.

I listened to his announcement speech at www.AlFranken.com, and was really impressed. I wish he'd put in a few funny things, but I realize that he was trying to convince everyone he was serious.

Al - I just put Stuart Saves his Family in my Netflix queue - I some how managed to miss it when it came out...I always enjoyed his skits on SNL. I just saved a video of his appearance on Letterman on my site.....

This was before he announced he was running....he was being coy about telling a dirty Buddy Hackett joke (remember when he would be on Carson?), I really can't mentioned it myself it's so bad, so Letterman told it to protect Al's political rep so he wouldn't be dissed by Norm the Worm in the campaign..Well, Al actually told it here at his Temple for his father's funeral service because he was a huge fan....well it's out there....make sure children and sensitive ears are not near....

I'm a Minnesota voter and we figured this was coming for at least a couple years. As a candidate, he can't be under estimated, he's educated, interested and informed. I doubt I'll vote for him if he is the candidate, but I respect him and think he is a bona fide candidate who can debate the issues with the best of them. He's going to have some stiff competition to get the party's nomination, but I think he's the guy to beat rigth now.

Franken seems to really have it in for the Senator he's running against, Coleman (R). We had an open seat in MN this last fall and he didn't run, I think he wanted to wait and go head to head with Coleman. Another Minnesotan that can't stand Coleman is Garrison Keillor, but that's another story. Personally, I voted for Coleman and likely will again.

We learned in 1998 when Jesse Ventura was elected that you can't underestimate anybody, especially when they have name recognition.

Didn't some actor get elected President back in the 80s?

I just sent DW the link to Al Franken's speach. She asked me if we could move to Minnesota so we could vote for him. :)

There's plenty of room, we could put you up in the spare bedroom until you get yourselves settled...we'll explain all about the DFL (Democratic Farmer Labor) party - sounds so 1930's doesn't it...?.....maybe a little tinge of socialism, eh?
