I have been a loyal sonicare user for years, but I ordered a new brush made by "Ultreo" a few weeks ago... I should get it mid-April, so i'll write a review when I get it. Even though I haven't used it yet, the fact that the folks that invented the sonicare came up with this puppy makes me think that it might just be awesome. Who knows.

What kind of brushes do you folks use?

I've got the Sonicare Elite and have been pleased for several years.

Keep me posted on the Ultreo!

If you still use it and don't go back to Sonicare, then maybe I'll give it a try, too...

I been using the Sonic Care for over a year or two. Seen a real improvement from the dentist visits.

Still using the old fashioned, non-electric Reach soft bristle toothbrush. Can't teach an old dog new tricks. I am a chronically late adopter of new technology. Just got my first TIVO this month and only because my son gave it to me as a birthday gift.

Grumpy

I've been using Oral-B for 15 months. The hygienist said the improvement in my gums and decrease in buildup is amazing.

I bought it because the combination of ulnar nerve and carpal tunnel problems made it nearly impossible to brush well with a manual toothbrush.

I still use a regular, manual toothbrush.

In 1990, I bought an electric toothbrush--can't even remember the brand name--but used it inconsistently. It finally quit working last year and I threw it away.

For a while there, the dentist had me going for cleanings every 3 or 4 months. I'm now on a 6-month schedule but I still think using an electric toothbrush would help.

Thanks for the link, and I look forward to your review.

I got my toothbrush about 2 weeks ago- according to the invoice, i'm customer #576. Nothing like living on the edge eh?

So, after 2 weeks of use (except for one day when I grabbed the sonicare by mistake), here's the review-

Day One
The first time I used it, it was weird. Actually, I didn't really like it at all. If you look at their website, check out the brushheads- they have a large rubber ultrasound transducer built into the head of the brush, and it makes for a weird brushing experience. Once I turned it on, things got even weirder.... it made a quiet version of the sonicare hum, and didn't 'splash' around as much in my mouth, so I wasn't sure if it was really working. Also, due to the transducer, I had to brush a little differently. It's also worth mentioning that whenever I ran the brush over a few of my front teeth, it hurt somewhat. I eventually figured out which teeth were causing me pain, and determined that they're the ones that hold my upper and lower lingual bars (perm retainer) in place. Interesting.

Today
I like this toothbrush a lot. I didn't think it was possible, but it seems to do a better job cleaning my teeth- they feel smoother when i'm done, and seem to stay cleaner longer. The pain is still there for some of my teeth, but I think they're becoming desensitized. I'm also more or less used to the size/shape of the brush head now, so it doesn't really bother me anymore.

So there you have it- the first review on the net for the Ultreo. :D <- nice and clean!

We'll have to measure your gum lines now and again in a few months...

"There's some bleeding between the 13 and 14..."

"Could that be because you just stuck me with a sharp implement?"

Sounds like my hygienist............

At one point my electric toothbrush started turning itself on randomly in the middle of the night. I was going to get rid of it thinking "Right, this is all I need: another device that needs technical support." Instead I took it apart, and found that moisture was getting in and making it turn on.

I just bought one of the new Oral B sonic brushes. Don't know if I like it yet.
