Canucks: CPP when

When do you plan to start CPP? Any reasons?

In my case, I didn't start paying the max until about 26, ER'd at 58 and who knows how long I'll live. IIRC, break even is age 82. I plan to apply for CPP at 60, although I won't really need it (well, if the world screws up big time in the next 10 months it's different).

I plan to apply for it as early as possible because:

1. I haven't lived in Canada all my life so will get relatively little
2. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush
3. CPP has invested heavily in equities, hence
4. If my portfolio fails, so will CPPs
