Tricare for Life User's Information

Here is how the TFL recipient are going to "help the economy" beginning in 2011. This is contained in the CBO Study of 2008: https://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/99xx/doc9...lthOptions.pdf

The cost share of the program would increase to about $3K (indexed for inflation) annually, plus Medicare Part B Costs.

Go to page 175 of the document for the TFL related information or do a pdf search on "TFL".

- One minor modification: The annual contribution caps will rise indexed to Medicare costs (not the CPI). My guess is that Medicare costs will escalate appreciably more than inflation as measured by CPI.
- I wonder if we'll at least be able to cover the out-of-pocket costs with MSAs or one of the other dozen or so flavors of tax-advantaged savings plans for medical expenses.
