We had a software upgrade last night and a now have a new feature. You will find that your PM box is searchable. Open you PM box and scroll down to find the search function.

There appears to be a glitch with the social groups or their permissions.

When I click on the "Social Groups" dropdown from the "Quick Links" tab, I get to this page: http://www.early-retirement.org/forums/groups/

No problems.

When I click on the group that I created, I get to this page: http://www.early-retirement.org/for...+independence+and+retiring+early:++fire!.html

Again looks fine.

When I click on the one discussion in that social group, the link http://www.early-retirement.org/forums/VBSEO_URL_GROUPS_DISCUSSION , I get: "Invalid Social Group specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator"

The link to the last post in that discussion, the little caret next to my poster name, doesn't link to the last of 39 posts. Its URL appears to be http://www.early-retirement.org/forums/VBSEO_URL_GROUPS_DISCUSSION_PAGE#gmessage52 and it produces the same error message.

The other links, "Post New Discussion", "Edit Group", "Pending & Invited Members", Manage Members", and "Transfer Group" seem to work fine. It's just those two busted links to the actual discussion.

Thanks Nords - the social group issue is being looked at.

OK, I can get to the social group's discussion thread. Thanks.

I see that social group subscriptions are also available, just like thread subscriptions on the regular forum. Click on the social group, go to the "Social Group Discussions" box header above the discussion titles, and look for "Group Tools" on the right-hand side. Click the link, select "subscribe to this discussion", and choose how you want to be notified.

Now you don't have to keep checking on those (*ahem*) infrequently-updated social groups. When someone puts up a new post to the social group's discussion, you'll get an e-mail and can take a look the next time you're on the board. And if the social group's moderator wants to let everyone know something in a timely manner, then instead of sending out 60 or so PMs (five at a time!) they can just post the announcement to the social group's discussion thread and let the board send the e-mails.

This makes the software update worth the effort. Thanks again.
