Help hooking up Dell Inspiron 1525 to LCD TV with HDMI

I suppose I should be able to make the connection...click the option in the display settings that says "output to digital TV" and be good

BUT....


The computer 'senses' the hdmi cable, and dings...then gives me the option to output to TV. BUT it then dings again like it doesnt see the hidmi cable...then it dings back on....over and over...every 3 or 4 seconds


Any idea what may be causing this? I have the tv on the right source input and everything...i suspect its a laptop issue

Check the seating of the HDMI cable. Maybe reconnect it while the computer is on.
