Hello and I am glad to have found this site for all sorts of reasons.

My wife died earlier this year. I am 59 years old. SSA paid my wife,s disability benefits to me since I applied after her death - we were too busy trying to keep her alive .

So I am thankful for the lump sum that was paid to me up until the time of her death.

QUESTION: when can i start receiving the disability survivorship benefit? All the brochures from SSA are not very clear on this...

i appreciate any help offered.
