April 30, 2015 is my last work day. due to sick leave and annual leave that is use or lose, I am now working 3 day weeks, 10 hour days. I am in the phase of identifying things to do around the house and day dreaming about future motorcycle trips across the US and mexico.
I will be retiring with 3 small annuities of appx $1000 each take home. I will be allowed to keep my health insurance and I also plan on starting TRICARE FOR LIFE. I will have in excess of $350,000 in my 401 (THRIFT SAVING PLAN) and another $50k in savings. Everything I own is paid for and my monthly expenses are $1000 to $1500 per month.
So far my health is good... Everything is rosy and appears like there will be no issues in retirement. Except...my wife is 8 years younger with no plains to retire at all. Her income is not even considered for my retirement needs--I have no idea what she does with her money other than give it away to her adult daughters so they won't have to work like the rest of us! (see our issues? )
I have worked since 8 years old and have no idea what I will do with my time and I have more hobbies than any 3 people I know! I do not want to be one of those statistics that die within 5 years of retiring. What do you do to feel usefull and productive?
