What should I think about, be concerned about regarding using a Vanguard Flagship Service Advisor? How do you use your advisor?

I use mine as a higher quality customer service rep. If I have a question or issue, I call or email my flagship rep. I'm assuming they have more experience and are better trained than the regular reps. Whether they are really better, I don't know, but I've always been satisfied. I did the portfolio review once. I don't recall if that was with the flagship rep or if they got me to the expert with that.

+1 on using mine as a CSR on steroids....my guy seems pretty knowledgeable. I usually talk with him once or twice a year.

Our Flagship advisor is pretty helpful. As we navigate through our retirement options, our advisor pulls together the appropriate specialist(s), like CFP, etc.

The Flagship Advisor before the one I have now couldn't do anything for me about one of Vanguard's idiotic policies. He never (nor has my current one) reached out to me. This even though I have at least $4 million there (used to be $10, but moved most). So, I would say they are pretty worthless.

I have found our Flagship advisor to be helpful and knowledgeable, and he arranges referrals to Vanguard's specialist advisors when appropriate (such as transferring an IRA I inherited when my mother died last year). I don't call on him often (once or twice a year) but when I do he often suggests something useful that wasn't the specific reason for the call.

+2. I email my Flagship rep about once a year, we've never spoken live. I don't use him for investment advice in any way if that's what the OP is asking (not clear)...

A Vanguard flagship representative is NOT a financial advisor. I do get a lot of help, setting up trusts, rearranging my internet page, sending me to specialists and am happy with their service. They don't try to sell you anytihing, but will facilitate any and all questions about their services. I've moved money from Fidelity because their advisor was always trying to sell me something....an annuity.....manage my money, placing my nestegg in expensive managed funds, etc.......so my larger account is with Vanguard....a smaller account with Fidelity.

My mother-who also has some funds at Vanguard-was concerned about not receiving quarterly statement, and reallocation. I called my rep to see what the process was to help her do the reallocation. He immediately offered to set up a time that was convenient with her to help us facilitate that-even though she does not have enough funds for Vanguard rep service. I too, have found my rep to be helpful when needed.
