So Im selling on of my toys and want to save , invest, etc the money not much only 5,000 but what would you do with it to get the best return on the dollar. don't mind if it has to sit and cant touch it for a wile.

That's an easy one. Go to the nearest casino's roulette table and put it all on 17.

It's all about risk v. reward, so you have to specify your comfort level.

Ya not going to happen that way tis time braumeister . I have to have some comfort im 40 aint got a penny saved . had multiple opportunity's to do something good with money I came into but pissed it away. it will not happen that way this time.

popeye31, congrats. You might look into Vanguard's Wellington or Wellesley.

The more important step is to find a way to get yourself in a position where you're saving automatically every month, without thinking about it.

Then it adds up quicker than you would think.
