The S&P 500 has had an interesting ride the last 10 years. Will the next 10 years be so interesting? I'm happy to have been on the ride up.

We could only be so lucky. It's been a great ride, but I don't expect it to repeat.
 
Actually it's much better than that. You really have to look at total return, price increase plus interest and dividends, to see the whole picture.

One of my huckster detection alarms, actually, is when someone compares their investment performance to an index's price-only growth. It's surprisingly common.
 
Well, the fat lady could sing as early as Tuesday. However, I am cautiously optimistic that the combined personal and corporate (with the potential of trillions of offshore profits being repatriated) tax cuts may be some sweet secret stock market sauce for a while longer. :dance:
