Looking over our options for 2019. We've never had BCBS but reviewing in network facilities, doctors BCBS covers Mayo Clinic and a few other specialized hospitals (it seems). Trying to decide if local insurance is as good. All the highly accredited hospitals seem to fall in BCBS network. Any experience here?

We have BCBS of MD through my former employer and never any problems and I'm very happy with them.

My former Megacorp is based in Delaware. So I have BCBS thru Highmark, in Delaware. No issues what so ever, but make sure your have Blue Card. Not sure if all the ACA policies have it.
They don't all have Blue Card, and I am sure. Some BCBS organizations offer ACA compliant policies with the name "Blue Options", these are nationwide PPOs with BlueCard. And I agree Blue Card is a real advantage.
