Downsized to a patio home last year...nice to be done with the mowing, triming and blowing in 30 minutes.

I grew up in the midwest and moved to Texas in 1976...was transferred to Chicago...then Detroit for a year each in 1997-1999...my family and I realized there is no place like the south...I was lucky...

How to Handle Profit Sharing Distribution

Thank you all for the great feedback. My DW does not have a pension plan or profit sharing...she had a full time job raising our kids...now working just part-time. So we are counting on my company...

What is everyone's opion on takeing a lump sum vs. pension. My dilema is that a lump sum payout (base on a 30 yr tres. rate of 6%) is $650K...my joint annuity option is $3674/mo. No inflation rider...

I have used Financial Engines and it gives me a 95% + success rate. Not sure if they use the same FIRE Calcs...I know it uses the Monte Carlo formula.
