Tune in to https://www.spacex.com/webcast this afternoon as an historic event takes place.

Launch time is expected to be 4:33PM Eastern, the broadcasts generally begin about 15 minutes prior to launch. It will likely also be on NASA TV.

I have friends in Central FL who are headed out to Titusville this afternoon. If you are local, it might make for a good day trip to get outdoors while still social distancing.

FNC is covering live as well. Sadly, weather is very iffy today.

FWIW, it's about damn time.

I'm concerned about the weather...we usually try to watch the SpaceX launches when we are home..and of course we are at home today....

live coverage will start at 1215ish. Weather sure doesn't look good ;-(

Mission Control sure looks different these days. The Air Force weather squadron is going with a 50% chance of launch as 11:30 AM EDT.

Seeing this is on my bucket list. I would’ve driven down from MD except for CV19.

You can still do it - rescheduled for Saturday...drive down - there are plenty of good viewing locations in the area where there won't be tons of people. Leave later today or early tomorrow. Finding a hotel for two nights will be easy. Go for it!

It’s just the sort of impulsive thing an ER outta do, but the thought of returning home to my Covid paranoid spouse makes it a no go. I think they asked sightseers to stay away?

The visual of the astronauts in their sleek new spacesuits climbing into the white Model X’s to transport them to the launchpad was sooo cool.....and I am a Musk skeptic.

Darn it just read todays' chances for success are 50/50 due to weather.....

Cool! They made it safely into orbit! That was so exciting to watch.

I think one of the astronauts was practicing imaginary piano.

We watched via YouTube streaming on AppleTV connected to large screen TV.

That was very exciting! What a difference from the old style launches. (I was a space geek starting with Mercury...)

Thousands of us locals in Orlando standing in our front lawns to capture live video.....but the cloud cover was to much. Damn!

God speed, gentlemen. Come home safely.

This was very well executed. And the landing on that ship of the just used rocket - pretty clever!

So my next question is - is there somewhere one can buy shares in SpaceX?

Didn't care for the Discovery Channel's coverage of the launch, non-stop talking from the announcers and over talking the flight crew all through the launch. Would have preferred to just listen to the flight crew communication and watch the launch.

+1

Started watching on the Discovery channel, then switched to YouTube, which was far better.

DW and I watched the launch after-the-fact on YouTube and thought the broadcast was handled well. Planning to watch again on Sunday when they dock with the space station.

Gosh - no such issue from the SpaceX live feed on YouTube.

I watched on the NASA TV app and it worked great too. Can’t wait to see the rendezvous with ISS in the morning.

I think NASA and SpaceX did a joint live feed and it was top notch.

Yes, really no reason to watch anything else. It was mostly SpaceX since they were operating the launch. You’ve got the SpaceX engineers right there explaining everything and you hear all the communications and get multiple simultaneous views when several thing are happening.
