    Palantir PLTR

I am searching for feedback on PLTR as an investment. Do you have any knowledge of the products, how do they stack up and function? How do competitor products compare? What are long term prospects of the company? Most of what I can find online are from view building utubers and the CEO in...

Won the game, considering an annuity

It seems like the bulk of people here are against the idea. It seems like nobody does this, hence others can't answer about regrets. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. A CD ladder would not provide the monthly "income". I appreciate the perspective of those older and wiser, including...

Won the game, considering an annuity

Jerry, for comparison sake, take the amount of money you need or want to retire. Many people choose an amount that equals 25x ish their annual budget or needs. Picture this amount for you in your head. Now triple that amount. That is the equivalent of what we have in our life (actually we...

Won the game, considering an annuity

We are both retired. Assets continue to grow, we likely have three times what we need to maintain lifestyle, in other words we are approaching 90X. I used to trade a lot, had early success. One of the pieces of advice I always respected was that during periods of success one should take...

Were you nervous when you retired?

Investments are sufficient to retire, far in excess of needs, wants, desires. SO retired a year ago, I am part time. I am at a decision point to cut the cord, perhaps decide this weekend, Monday, end of month. With stretches of days off I really don't mind going in to work but when the alarm...

    Share your FIRE Milestones - 2013- 2020

Spouse retired late last year. Accounts have grown some (many X's) I am expecting to go from full time to part time this week (or at least take start the transition to this position). It is amazing to reflect back over my life and see how things have worked out.

How did you decide to FIRE?

Great stuff everyone! I am envious of the healthcare benefits for some of the early retirees, that is the big factor keeping me working (for now).
