    Swiss bank account list audit

I was "reviewed", not audited in 05', 06' and 07' for taxes. It cost me about 1K each time. One of those years I did accidentally make a mistake, but the other two I still think the IRS burnt me. My yearly salary is pocket change to theirs. So how the heck did some of the current...

What do you think will come out of this? Do you think the current administration will pursue those involved? Cletis

    Great Depression comparison

If you were to compare the market today with the market during the great depression, how much lower do you think the market would have to go to be equal to that time? Cletis PS. I have to quit thinking so much!

    Two Q's

I don't think things will ever get that bad, mostly curious as far as "What if". Not sure where I received the info I have on FDIC, but I believe I was told that yes your insured but theres no telling "When" everyone would get their $ from the gov. if something were to happen. But I haven't...

    Two Q's

    Wrong decade or what??

Just wondering if this is your psychological profile: When you are losing, you worry that you are losing. When you are winning, you worry that you might lose Well, I don't think so. I just would like to see a return, basically a reason to stay invested after 7+yrs. I feel like I'm...

    Wrong decade or what??

I'm having a real hard time seeing the benefits of being invested in the market. I got invested around 2001 and preceded in losing 100K. It took 6-7 yrs to get that back. Now in the last month I've lost 30K and it doesn't look like it's going to stop there. I really can't wait another 6-7...

    Taxes and market timing

I've been very disappointed with my mutual fund returns over past years so this year I started moving in and out and I actually came out very well (but only the limit so as not to accure penalties for MT). I got out before the big fall the last couple wks and hope to get back in soon. The...

    Depressing thought

A little over a year ago I went form Hourly to Salary. I was working 12-16hrs a day. I slept 4-6 hrs a night. I slept extremely well. All I had to do was sit down and I'd be out. Now I mostly sit at a desk 8hrs. I have one heck of a time sleeping through the night without waking 2-3 times...

    401k or IRA

Depending on if you want to retire earlier than 59 1/2. I'd also build an account to take you from when you retire early to 59 1/2. Alot of the people I work with have substancial amounts built up, but can't touch it without penalties till 59 1/2. Cletis

    torqued about 401K

I have about 175K in my 401. I've been contributing about 10yrs. In the beginning the company handled the 401 and we also had a committee that chose the funds. The last 8yrs we've had several diff fund managers. Prudential manages it now. Cletis
