FD1000

I immigrated to the US with my family in 1991 in my mid-30s with just several thousand. Started to invest in 1995 and retired in 2018 after just 23 years with a portfolio worth 25 times our annual expenses. I never got stock options, huge raises, or an inheritance. I only got a few small bonuses.
It was all about saving, living frugally, and investing wisely, especially developing my system over 15 years.
From 2018 to 2023 (6 years), I doubled our portfolio using 95% bond OEFs and my special system. My portfolio never lost more than 1% from any last top.
We have never forgotten to enjoy life since marriage in our early 20s. Our passion has been to travel the world. We have been in many countries in Europe. We have been to every state in the US (except Alaska), several times for some. We have done it mostly with the kids.
Two months in the Far East in 1985. In 2024-25 we vacationed in New Zealand and Australia.
Example: You can see Bryce Canyon, which is one of my favorites, by driving a used car, staying in Motel 6, and eating cheap food, or you can fly in first class, drive an $80K car, stay in 5-star hotels, and eat in expensive restaurants. This is what we did in our 20s. Remember, the Bryce Canyon experience is the same.
Later, we spend more on vacations.

Our goals are:
1) I have a large portfolio. I just need to cover inflation for our portfolio to last for 4-5 decades.
2) I still want to make at least 6% annually with the lowest Standard Deviation (under 3) and without ever losing 3% from any last top and be positive annually. I no longer care to maximize performance but to keep our standard of living
3) I use mainly UNIQUE bond OEFs with the flexibility to trade more often by using momentum and smoother uptrends.
4) May sometimes use faster trades of other funds (stocks,CEFs, gold and more).
5) Use a very concentrated portfolio of usually 2-3 funds. This is according to Buffett: "Diversification is a protection against ignorance."
6) My style is to sell very early when I see high risk and get back when high risk goes down and an uptrend shows up. I found years ago it works with bond OEFs but not with volatile categories.

The more money I have, the more I go to MM pretty fast when my big picture and several indicators tell me to. If I'm "wrong" I will be back invested at 99+% in days. If I'm right, I don't lose much.
