Puzzling over inflation in the next 30 yrs.

I think people with non-cola pension and annuities could be hurt a lot over time with inflation, pays to be diversified but some people will suffer.

Puzzling over inflation in the next 30 yrs.

As retired people inflation will vary greatly for all of us. Can always travel stateside instead of world travel. No business clothing , Use 1 car instead of 3,house long paid for, easy choices if necessary. I think most of us will be fine.

    FI but not red

Glad you caught this, I personally could be ready now but wife is not. Another key factor is we have been attempting to groom our two kids to take over the business, They do an ok job right now, but with a business that we have grown from nothing, OK isn't good enough. Competition is fierce and...

    FI but not red

Anyone else here financially independent but not retired? I own a small chain of coffee shops and could easily afford to retire but have not done so . I have downsized from 80 plus hours to about 20 but still find myself watching the cameras from home. My wife still lives at the shops it seems...

    Cash back or points?

I have to echo an earlier poster, if you can use points for business grade upgrades it is way better than the cash back feature. Can often get at least 3 % or more per point and occasionally more. Plus it takes the bite out of the highly priced seats which i am normally too cheap to pay for...

    Lending Club

Seems to good to be true, so i would be suspicious, I have played with lending club and have averaged just over 9% with defaults included, but have never loaned for near that rate. I only play with $$ on this, I don't really count on it, But I have been very happy so far. For me it is gambling...

Poll:Do you include CC bonus points in your net worth?

I play the credit card game with both me and my wife. with the changes in Chase policy I have to give one a two year breather and start again. But to me at least counting this as net worth is silly. If i was cutting it this close I wouldn't even consider retirement.
