Reimburse kids college - how to structure?

DS#1 started at a junior college. We paid for it. After junior college, he was hired by a large state university that offered free tuition so he picked up his BA with just the cost of books. He was laid off during COVID but benefits continued so he used he off time to earn an MBA. DS#2 tried...

    2019 Air Show

I earned my private pilot license with instrument rating many years ago. Though I’m no longer actively flying, I still look up any time I hear an airplane overhead. If I lived where you do, I’d be sitting in a lounge chair with a pair of binoculars.

What did you do today? 2017 version

Since yesterday was tax day, today I got a little personal satisfaction by signing up for Social Security. I hit 70 in July so this fits the three month lead time they want. I might even take the wife out for a turtle sundae when that first deposit arrives.

We have a 2008 Roadtrek 190 Popular. if I can make the link work, here is a blog of our trip. TREKING WITH CAROLYN & JIM: May 2016 NWB - the skeeters weren't bad but we ran into wicked gnats at the Arctic Circle. It was 86 degrees and sunny. Poll: Average Daily Cost of Vacation

This past summer, we RV'd from Ohio to Alaska with stops at Theodore Roosevelt, Glacier, Banff and Jasper National Parks. The seven week trip was $4,000.09 including tours and souvenirs or $71.40 per day for two of us. It's 11,000 miles so gasoline was the biggest cost at $2,300 but we are...

    How long did it take?

Realizing I was retired was a matter of days but my job had lots of critical deadlines so it took a year or more to get rid of the nagging thoughts that there must be missing a deadline. I was getting better but the thing that killed the nag for good was a three month RV trip to Alaska. Getting...

What did you do today? 2016 version

I looked at the 15 day forecast and decided I could safely "summarize" the snow blower and tucked it away in the barn until next fall.

Need advice to get my lawn in shape

OK, I'm a midwest corn and soybean agronomist and not a Houston turfgrass expert but would say you are on the right track by identifying the various issues. Check https://aggieturf.tamu.edu/ to try to ID some of your weed and disease issues. The site also has a listing of Cooperative Extension...

    Gas Prices

We returned from a 3000 mile trip a week ago. Our game was to never pay over $2.00 per gallon. We almost hit our goal but had one fill of $2.04. DW was able to check the prices on the route ahead with Gas Buddy. A few times, there was a $.25 per gallon difference just a few miles apart. Sure...
