Encrypt Folders on my Windows PC

Folder encryption, even when it works, creates a false sense of security. Open a file and there's a good chance a temp copy is made which is unencrypted (because its not in the encrypted directory). These temp files can be retrieved with unerase software. Plus bits and pieces can end up in...

If you (& spouse) made $160K/yr, would you force your kids to wear 2nd hand clothes?

I grew up wearing 2nd hand clothes and my mother would take fabric from clothes worn in a spot or stained badly and make shorts with them. If an item was store bought it usually came from Kmart. The fanciest I ever had was "Bragin Dragon" from Sears. One time she had some left over denim...

    Best.Singer.Ever

Michael Buble is still alive and kicking, and young. Problem is these days there's not as much emphasis on talent... its marketability which counts.

    Best.Singer.Ever

I'm not even close to 58 and I enjoy it. I was born the year before Woodstock, and pretty much grew up listening to 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s music, and I'm still stuck in those eras! Do wop, Beatles, acid rock, hard rock, hair metal, Sinatra, Dean and various "crooners", 70s pop, Motown, reggae...

    Best.Singer.Ever

Problem with singers these days is computers can take an out of tune/key singer and correct it. Can make a shallow voice sound rich with hidden revert, can emulate double tracking by taking the same track, changing it slightly and overlaying it back onto the original. True way to find out if...

    My Ooma VOIP phone

I've been considering it for a while, but have concerns about VOIP security: Security Threats In VoIP Seems to be very vulnerable and I would be afraid of talking to my banker, credit card company or advisor over VOIP. Can someone here convince me I'm paranoid because I'd love to make the...

This singer pulls off a damned good Steve Perry... and the music is "interesting." YouTube - ROCK SUGAR-Don't Stop The Sandman Watch until 1:32... that's where the surprise comes in with the Steve Perry part.

LBYMers, Could You Spend $300k A Year?

Warning this is long! Me.... I've had big bucks from business and well... didn't care for the social circles and stress associated with the treadmill. That's not directed at anyone here, and if they are comfortable with the folks they surround themselves with good for them. Rich, poor or in...

    Best.Singer.Ever

Though I love rock and roll, and hard rock, I really enjoy crooners such as Sinatra. Modern times, Michael Buble has a great voice - which I like and I don't get the raised eyebrows from my wife when I listen to him because she likes him... but I think for her it has allot to do with his looks!

Love to Cook - Now a Question

The VA, firefighters and police station ideas are great. I have a passion for cooking and my wife loves baking. I guess we compliment each other. We frequently make food to give to the local men in blue and the firefighters, and they really seem appreciate it. Food banks and soup kitchens...
