old guy
I'm 74 years old and have been retired since 1992. I retired early because I could financially. I squandered my early retirement years lowering my golf handicap. Were I able to do it over I would have enrolled in the CFP program and became a fee only planner. I have a BSBA, MBA and a certificate from the college for financial planning in "financial planning for the retired" awarded in 1989. I have since studied financial planning and all aspects of investing independently through extensive reading and self study. I have been very successful in managing our investment portfolio since retirement but I must admit a lot of the success was due to the market during the period 1992--1999. I am currently looking for opportunities to share my knowledge and experience in financial planning and investment through some kind of volunteer program.
