I'm a 52 year old lawyer from Orlando, FL and mother of 2 daughters, both attending college. My husband recently passed while we were separated but that still entitles me to be legally widowed. Despite our differing life visions, I mourned for the passing of a caring father and law partner. Not only had his demise brought about an immediate end to our fruitless marriage, it also saved me from the difficult explanations to our friends, daughters and in-laws regarding our pending divorce - something we successfully shielded from everyone. As his intestate death was putting me in a favorable inheritance entitlement under FL law, unanticipated complications over his estate settlement will probably delay my ER plan for quite a while. Meanwhile, I have already eased up on my workload and try to enjoy life as much as I possibly can. I've been regularly travelled since the funerals and managed visiting many countries ever since. I've just visited mom in Vermont while en route from attending the memorial service for my friend’s husband in Quebec, Canada. Meanwhile, my plan of moving to New Zealand is still on. Renovation of my Auckland summer home will complete in June and I’m planning to meet my daughters there for a summer Christmas. BTW, I'm delighted to have acquired my NZ helicopter license last summer (on top of my 7 years flight license with ASEL and instrument rating in U.S.) and look forward to do some flying over Auckland. I just love seeing that beautiful country up in the air. After going through such inevitable life's transition, I stand ready to get my feet wet again! Looks like I need a good massage and some (or many) new shoes for my journey!
