I'll never be thin:duh:. But, I ride my bike several thousand miles a year and work with the dumbells, etc. So, I'm reasonable fit. Thats fine with me.

I agree with w2r and khan. Savings buys time. Have pretty much all the stuff I need, so being able to RE is more important.

I would rather not have a funeral. If family and friends want to raise a glass and give a farewell toast, that's fine with me. Read recently about 'green' cemetaries and burials. Just a plain box or shroud in a natural setting. I would rather they did that than an expensive casket or fancy burial.

So sorry to hear about Tiger. I went though this back in April with one of my dogs. It's a very difficult decision to make. It still hurts to think about her. But, finally you know that it's best to let them go. I'll be thinking of you.

I would buy it and drive it for 10 years. As for which car, I would lean towards the Fit. Has plenty of room for my needs and decent mileage. Although I might wait for the hybrid version. A diesel would be good if it wasn't so expensive. Does anyone know why diesel cost so much more than gas?

So sorry to hear about your friend. It's always shocking when something like that happens to a friend or relative. Thankfully it wasn't worse. I would think knowing that you are there and thinking about her is a big help.

My brother and SIL put all their money in Worldcom. Ended up selling for $100. Their retirement is on hold. I'll give them credit for not whining though. I think I'll stick with being an amateur.
