    Career Change to Pharmacy?

Advice on Current Financial Situation (Novice)

Buy as little as you can possibly get away with. Most good savers even fail to retire early. You need to be an extreme saver. Your co-workers need to be making fun of you. Your parents need to think you are crazy. Get a roommate in the low rent district, and save every last penny. 1) save...

    anyone with a phd?

Personally I see a PHD as giving up on ER. At least in my field, experiance is more valued, and in the mean time I could make an extra $500K. I would rather put that money towards ER.

    The countdown begins

Dress code? I now work for the same company I worked for out of college. It is slightly progressive, and as such my view of the world is much different than most. Where I work we have flex time, you wear what you want and work the hours you want. Some people bring their dog to work...

    Who does this???

We have had lots of "Rich dad" type books and lots of zero money down gurus lately. All of them riding the realestate wave. Now that the wave is dieing, I think we will see lots of people loose their shirts in realestate. Too bad, I love realestate. The problem with the zero down crowd is...

    Saving money on utility bills

We use a swamp cooler. It works great when it stays below 95. For us the month of July is a little painfull durring the day. But our nights are ussualy 70, which cools the house down to 60. In Wyoming a swamp cooler was perfect day and night. In Colorado it is a little underpowered. I find...

    Goal setting...

We have 3 pieces of paper on our fridge for our goals. 1) a thermometer with a list of things to pay off (two pieces of real estate) 2) a map of our land 3) a quarterly debt value. Every quarter we check to see if we are meeting our original goal. Then at work a keep and annual savings goals...
