I retired 8 years ago with less than that in a HCOL. My wife was working and we had low debt and free medical. Now we're enjoying life, moved to a LCOL area and still have under $1 million. Oftentimes life is not about money.
I will cut my expenses if my spending/market conditions are making me feel uncomfortable. There are 2 major components to success for me, the physical and the emotional. As I said, I'm not into analysis-paralysis, my life has been great, I believe no matter what life deals me I will figure it out.

Obviously this is highly subjective and personal, a few things I do is to exercise regularly, try to keep the weight down and realize I am aging and this is pretty much normal.
My wife and I are retired, mid-sixties. We're thinking of buying a home around $350k as a downsizer. We are wondering if in the future we should get a reverse mortgage or a home equity line of credit? I'd like to take advantage of an all equity situation. Thanks.
