Where to order ink cartriges

Do you have an Office Max nearby? They will take up to 5 used cartridges (any brand) at $3 credit per cartridge... I've also used 123inkjets.com, though I notice they now have a $55 minimum order before you get free shipping.

    CD Rates

I'd third the idea of banking locally ... we've gotten to know our branch manager, and she's been willing to match rates with competing banks. Never hurts to ask...

    It's funny joke Thursday! 2005 - 2020

The new priest is nervous about hearing confessions, so he asks the older priest to sit in on his sessions. The new priest hears a couple of confessions, then the old priest asks him to step out of the confessional for a few suggestions. The old priest suggests, "Cross your arms over your...

    The coming healthcare police state

Of course this brings up some interesting scenarios, like -- We'll charge you extra if you don't treat your cholesterol. But, BTW, we won't cover the cholesterol drug you may need to treat the problem.... (I'm not making this last part up. My insurance won't cover Lipitor.)

    The Invisible Rich

My DH still keeps falling into this mindset, and he's well past his teen years. He'll see someone's fancy car, or house and say, "they must be rich." My reply is, "Maybe, or maybe they're just up to their @ss in debt."

How is the credit bubble affecting your city?

Central Indiana: We've been hurting for a while with foreclosures and slow sales in many area. Now seeing the slowdown in the "popular" suburbs. I know one fellow who's sweating because his new house is nearly built and he hasn't had a nibble on his current home. Funny though, there are still...

    The worst runway design ever

My DH, who once lived in Chicago, refuses to fly into Midway .... Think it was also at Midway last winter that a plane went off the runway during a snowstorm, and ran into an intersection where it hit a car.

    It's funny joke Thursday! 2005 - 2020

The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won. The pastor was so pleased that he entered it in the race again, and it won a second time. The local paper read: PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the pastor not to enter the donkey in...

    Inflation: Does it really matter?

$4 a pound for shrimp is good, congrats. I buy sale stuff too, but I see inflation creeping up there. The 49 cent a pound chicken quarters are now 79 cents a pound on sale; the 77-cent eggs on sale are now 99 cents, the 99-cent per pound sale on round steak is now $2.19 a pound .. and so it...

    Inflation: Does it really matter?

Didn't you move from Jersey? Think that might account for your housing and electric costs? Meanwhile, go ask your wife how grocery prices are doing week-to-week. From the Christian Science Monitor:

    Inflation: Does it really matter?

Our latest discovery ... the southwestern-themed chain restaurant that used to serve rice and beans with the fajitas now charges $1 (it's a premium side, you see) And the 1lb frozen fish that dropped to 12 oz is down to 11 oz now. Then again, it's from China, so I didn't buy it ;)

    Who else loves tea?

I like Celestial Seasonings -- the Blueberry Breeze green tea is a favorite (very good iced.) I also like Lipton. Another favorite is their lemon herbal, brewed with a sprig or 2 of fresh mint, then chilled. Oh, and if you go to Boulder, Colo., -- Celestial Seasonings offers a free tour of...

    ba-bye house payment

Paid ours off about 7 years ago .. no regrets at all. And considering that property taxes are on the rise, I'm just as happy not to have to deal with a mortgage, too.

Advice on a good $10 bottle wine

I'd agree on the Malbec from Argentina. 3-buck chuck, but not the Chard.. every batch I get seems harsh. A bit far afield for you in NJ ... but we like Michigan wines. Tabor Hill, St. Julian from the SW corner, Chateau Grand Travese and Chateau Chantal among those from Traverse City.

Could you save $$ by living on a cruise ship?

Just keep that Norwalk (or whatever its name is) virus away .... Sounds a little like the story that went around the Web about someone saying they wanted to retire to the Holiday Inn. Many of the same reasons, too.
