Turning 65. Looking for help and advise on employer provided UHC Group Medicare Advantage PPO plan.

Thanks for the great replies especially the in depth specifics by gromit. Just curious gromit are you on this plan? I've read that some plans give you money towards your part B. Do you know if this one does?

Turning 65. Looking for help and advise on employer provided UHC Group Medicare Advantage PPO plan.

Hello, I will be turning 65 later this year. DW will turn 65 in April 2026. We've been on her previous employer's provided BCBS 80/20 plan since she retired from the Federal Reserve Bank in 2016. The premiums and deductibles are very reasonable. But the time is coming to get off. The FRB...

    Credit freeze

Another update. Kept trying today Experian and finally got to talk with another human. She was no help so I persuaded her to let me talk with a supervisor. She helped a little. At least I could understand her. She can see my account but can't figure out why I can't log in so she's sending...

    Credit freeze

I thought I'd update my journey trying to freeze our credit. This is taking too much time and effort setting up online accounts. We will settle for the big three so six online accounts total. I've spent about 4 hours so far. I'm 2/3 of the way there. Lots of different issues. Equifax is...

    Credit freeze

You might be right. It's probably easier for someone to steal your identity than for you to freeze you own credit.

    Credit freeze

Hello, I was reading a post titled "Three hard inquiries on my credit report?!" and a lot of the replies mentioned that our credit should be frozen. Someone mentioned 3 or 4 agencies. Can someone give some guidance on how to do this? Hopefully it can be done online at each agency. Thanks!

    Laminate Flooring/Cabinetry Install

This would also be the time to look at the electric. Add more outlets/circuits and bring everything up to code. Plumbing as well. Allow yourself more time than you think you'll need. Things never go as planned. As far as the flooring, if you use a good product and plan it out, you'll be...

    Quick Roth Conversion Tax ?

I stated "indirect rollover" too many times. Still nothing.

    Quick Roth Conversion Tax ?

Just talked to two more people in Schwab's retirement department. Still a no-go. They can't figure out a way to put the amount of the withheld taxes into the Roth. I guess next time I'll have to do quarterly taxes. Very disappointed.

    Quick Roth Conversion Tax ?

I did a Roth conversion in Dec 2020 and had the taxes withheld. I want to do a rollover in Jan 2021 to put that money into the Roth. Does it matter if you did the conversion in 2020 and the rollover in 2021? I'm having trouble getting someone at Schwab that understands. I think the best so...

    Quick Roth Conversion Tax ?

    Quick Roth Conversion Tax ?

Has anyone done this? I talked with three people at Schwab where my accounts are. I kept getting passed to someone that knew more. I was told I could convert, withhold the taxes and rollover that amount into the tIRA (where the funds came from) but not into the Roth. Very confused.

    Quick Roth Conversion Tax ?

Thanks for the great info. I still like your option of rolling the taxes back into the Roth. Sorry for the questions. So I understand. If you don't have any withholdings or quarterly payments throughout the year and you take a tIRA distribution at the end of the year and send in the taxes...

Thought we were in good shape until we came here. Please help!

Thanks again for all of the great replies and awesome info. We'll be working on a plan to get moving. Definitely going to do the ROTH conversion. Will call Schwab today. As far as being in MM. I guess we just listened to too much of the "noise" about the market being propped up and didn't...
