    This is a real longshot...

Here is a Wikipedia link about the Boeing 377 Stratocruiser: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_377_Stratocruiser "In 1954, United Stratocruisers flew Los Angeles to Honolulu and between Seattle and San Francisco; United's B377 flights to Honolulu were all first class. In 1955, BOAC 377s had...

    This is a real longshot...

Just for grins I asked Perplexity(AI) your question : (If you click on some of the footnote links, will link you to additional information) To find a passenger manifest list from a 1954 United Airlines flight from Honolulu, Hawaii to San Francisco, California, you can try the following steps...

Toyota/Lexus Hybrid Owners: Tell Me About Your Experiences

We bought a 2021 Highlander Hybrid Limited The Limited version has the heated steering wheel. We do mostly city driving. Currently about 32K miles. I've been tracking the mileage since we purchased the car. I would say average mileage is about 37-38MPG. What I don't like about it is the...

What's changed with airlines/flights in the last 10 years

@OP what airlines are you flying ? Some airlines make you pay for carry-on bags and snacks now(peanuts and pretzels) no freebies. Depending on your ticket you may have a group or zone number. This number/letter determines the order in which people board the plane. You may want to download the...

Flashing back to the early days of computer games...

In 1996-1997 I worked for a networking company and had several PCs at home. At the time, my wife's 2 nephews would come over and spend the night with their uncle (and aunt) playing multi-player Warcraft on the 3 PCs that were connected via an ethernet hub. To this day, 27 years later, these 2...

Is it really worth it to invest in individual stocks?

Back in the day, a work buddy and I signed up for a Motley Fool subscription service. It was an annual membership sort of thing. Every few weeks MF would publish their buy/sell recommendations. What ended up happening at the end of the year is that you owned about 20+ stocks. Most performed...

How often do strangers ask you for money?

I was at a do-it yourself car wash, and some elderly guy rolled up on 3 wheel scooter and 'tried' to ask me for a dollar. I could hardly understand him. This was mid morning, weekday, I was the only one at the car wash. I had no money other than $5 I used for the car wash. He set there for about...

Front Door Visit From New Edward Jones Representative

Same thing happened here, a few months ago on a very warm summer day. EJ rep (young, probably early twenties) rang the door bell. Told him we were self-directed and not interested.

Post your Drone photos & videos here.

I have the same, DJI Mini 3 Pro w/DJI RC (Video # 2). What I have found is that the DJI RC's screen can get really hot to the touch, on a bright sunny day. As long as you keep the drone moving, (in theory) the drone should be ok. Thanks for watching.

Should I be putting my car's keyless fob in a Faraday cage?

I follow this guy on YT. He is located in Ontario Canada and drives a Jeep Gladiator Mojave which I guess is a popular vehicle to steal. He had it parked in his driveway one night and his garage camera's caught a couple of thieves trying to steal his Jeep. Fortunately he had his keys in a...

Tools to balance the fight between health care costs and bankruptcy?

My father passed in Nov, in Ohio. Looking to bring mom down to NC. We've visited 4 places here (near us), none of which take the Medicaid waiver. When mom runs out of money at any of these 4 places, it's on the family to move mom elsewhere. I'm trying to contact the state's Area Agency on...

Medicare Part D changes for 2023

My mom is currently on Wellcare's 'Classic' plan : $28.80/2022 to $32.60/2023 per month. Going to take a closer look at Wellcare's 'Value Script' plan $12.90/2022 to $11.20/2023 month. She is taking mostly Tier1 and Tier2 meds, (8 in total). Thinking the Value Script plan may be a better...

    Drones

Got the drone 'bug' back in March of 2020. Purchased a Fimi X8SE 2020. Shortly, after joining some drone FB groups, and watching YTs, I decided to get my FAA Part107 sUAS license, figuring that perhaps at some point I could use it to make some money. Never pursued making money, but just love...

John Hancock and LTC - changes

Thanks to everyone that read and responded to my post. Much appreciated. As mention above, we elected to keep the $140 DMB, at the new higher rate. We probably could self-insure, but would prefer to share the costs, especially if both of us (DW and I) ended up in assisted living at the same time.

John Hancock and LTC - changes

OP here, for comparison purposes, we talked with a local Mutual of Omaha's agent, and received a quote for a similar DMB, with a non-forfeiture rider. Even with the JH premium increases over the next couple years for the $140 DMB, JH is still cheaper. We are going to stay with JH and keep the...
