I am thinking of buying at current price, $14.93 as a longer term hold. I read the previous listing and just wondered if anyone has changed their minds as the stock has feel further.
Of course, the overall outlook on the market is rather dreary at this time so imagine things could get worse...
It is interesting while I did not receive a cost of living increase this year (which I understand due to low inflation); however, no one told Blue Cross. They managed a nice increase in premiums which does hurt.
My guess is the market will have some downturns over 2010 but mostly remain where it is.
However, I fear Iran, Housing prices, things we don't know about banks, crazy politicians, unemployment, tsumamis, earthquakes, and terrorists.
Happy New Year
Has anyone heard of using Avocado Extract for appetite suppression? I can not find such supplements or any information about them.
Does anyone know of a vendor of such products?
What do you guys think of the other posts regarding insider selling?
I also heard someone say that during the next year about 50% of homes will be worth less than their mortages. In the small town where I live in La. there seems to be a housing boom, houses are being built everywhere...
I just heard they decided that the budget deficit was off around 2 trillion dollars and they are wanting to spend another trillion on the healthcare bill. While I agree something needs to be done with healthcare, how much can we spend?
What is this going to do to the value of the dollar...
I would be concerned about the next two months but then again what do I know. I choose to play it safe; however, the little I have in JSVAX has done well over the past month.
If I were to get back into stocks, then you can bet that would be a very bearish signal. I want to wait until the Fall and see what happens. I would rather be safe than sorry and I can still see the possibility of a large sell off. But as you say who knows, maybe Jim Crammer (I am joking)...
If the ECRI is correct on their predictions on the economy then it would appear this would be a good time to move into stocks.
How many of you have decided this information means a higher stock market and have or are moving funds into stocks?
Being a somewhat Liberal Libertarian, I feel people have a right to make poor choices. So of course prostitution should be legal. Hopefully, there would be some slight government regulation on health issues. Even Libertarians believe one of the few government's duties is to protect its...
So what do you think of the validity of ECRI's statement? It seems to me the idea of stagflation is much more likely. I continue to be afraid of the large debt of the average American along with the national debt. We have been a credit card economy for a long time and I fear with increasing...
I think I will continue my cautious ways at least for a while. I prefer to see what happens in the Fall.
BTW, I did decide to put some in Vanguard Short Term Bond Fund. Even if I loose a percent or two, I still will be making more than I was.
I retired early at 55 from Federal Civil Service. As you can imagine I am not wealthy and so I am very conservative in my investments. My TSP has been completely in Government MM since I retired. I have not made much but that fund was making money while the market plunged and for that I am...
On "Morning Joe" the statement was made that while most people and reporters are more positive on the economy and the markets, those with the "real money" are still very afraid of the markets and so their money continues to be in safe investments.
Greenspan seemed positive on TV interview but...
Another 300 points on the Dow and I will be looking again. The VDIGX fund is now paying 2.53% up from 2.33% Div. I would like to see it up to at least 3% Div. Of course, as someone said my crystal ball is not working very well now as I sit and while not making much, I am not loosing anything...
Everything in this market is a guess. It is amusing to see the "experts" on CNBC talk as if they know what is going to happen.
If the market continues its move down I may be buying some dividend plays but I would agree the market is now a roller coaster more akin to a dice table than to...
I appreciate the responses. I am semi-retired, age 58, and considering moving some money back into stocks particularly in my IRA. Most of my funds are in short term funds.
If the market moves below 8000 I think I might begin DCAing into "quality" stocks, if there is such a thing. I'm...
