I noticed that they have moved up more than I expected the last several months and I wanted to get a feel for the general feelings on Muni. Bonds...

    50 and 2.5 million

:angel:If I were to do a term annuity at 50 years old with money that I moved from a Variable Annuity, wouldn't I have to pay a penalty for doing so? I thought I could only do a SPIA with equal and periodic payments under IRS 72 (t)??

    50 and 2.5 million

Well, right now we get by with 5500/month in expenses. This is living in our current home that is paid off and is worth about 600k. We plan on moving to a home in LV that is also paid off and is much smaller so we figure our expenses should be lower, but we are planning on the same 5500/month...

Question: If at 50 years old, one decides to retire and wants to live off interest and dividend income....what etf's and other strategies would you recommend? I was thinking an SPIA for about 700k to give about 2.5k/month in income and live off the interest and dividends of mostly muni bonds...

Las Vegas: anyone looking to buy there?

Lake Las Vegas We were looking at Lake Las Vegas too but backed off from that idea because the HOA is having some major problems. So just to make sure, if I have several non-qualifies annuities, I can turn them into income annuities at 50 years old and not have to pay a penalty? Hi. Yes we would both qualify later on. Within 24 hours, I have received several responses to my posting. I am very excited to start using this forum more often. We have used a few planners over the past decade, but as we learn more about investments, we have realized that most are after...

    Where to put Wellesley?

We are currently putting most of the muni monies into the Vanguard Intermediate-Term Tax-Exempt Fund Admiral Shares. They have shown a relatively consistent yield. Right now we have about 35 percent of our retirement savings in stock mutual funds. Max out on our IRA's yearly and still left with...
