JUST DO IT!! We've been living aboard for just over a year now after retiring last year. It has been FANTASTIC! Go where we want, when we want. Don't like the neighborhood/neighbors? Go some where else! It was incredibly liberating to sell the house and get rid of all of our...

    Friction in using CC points

Fido cash-only Visa. EVERYTHING goes on that single card. $0.69 cup of coffee from the gas station goes on that card. I average about $100-200/month cash from it. I can spend the cash on whatever air/hotel travel needs I want --- or not. The incremental advantages of all the other...

    Simple filing system (for seniors)

Reminds me of an old Andy Rooney segment. He said he immediately un-staples all paper received and throws all of them in a big pile on the desk. He said, "I find that they seek their own level of importance....."

Good one! All those threads for what to say when asked what your "job" is, we can just say "I'm a health coach" in addition to a financial planner.

    saving vs investing

My (LBYM) philosophy was the opposite of this type of thinking. I paid for everything I HAD to pay for, then EVERYTHING ELSE was saved/invested.

    Having a Backup Credit Card?

This^^^^ When they say it will be mailed in 7-10 days, I usually just say, "That is not acceptable." Besides, the fraud is their fault for having insecure processes, not mine. They have always sent it overnight (several different companies).

IIRC epoxy starts getting soft at around 175 degrees F. Might start sticking to your "stuff". Keep an eye on it.

I am dumbfounded by this guy...

I've lived 25+ years with/in/on boats. Plan on 8-10% of the cost/value of the boat PER YEAR - and that's if you do most of the work yourself.
